South St. at the Soldier's Monument, Jamaica Plain

Looking north toward Centre Street at the Solider's Monument (just out of view) in the mid 1960's and in 2013.  A trolley is heading south in the old view passing the First Church of Jamaica Plain.  Rentable bikes are apparent in the newer photo as well as bikes lanes to accomodate them.  The church was constructed in 1853.  The church experienced lean years in the 1960s when the congregation was down to 14 members, but it was revitalized and today boasts a membership of about 110.
